Reiki (pronounced ‘ray-key’) is a Japanese word meaning ‘Universal Life Force Energy’.

Reiki is a natural healing system that was discovered and developed by Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist monk and scholar, in the first part of the last century.

Dr Usui originally used Reiki as a means of spiritual development, and the apparent physical healing was seen almost as a beneficial side-effect.  However, in the West today, it is primarily used as a healing technique.

How does Reiki work?

Universal energy is all around us. After being connected to Reiki by the Reiki Master (meaning ‘Teacher’), the healer becomes a channel for this energy.

Scientific research has shown that the energy emitted from the healer’s hands during a treatment helps to activate and enhance the body’s own natural self-healing processes.

Therefore, Reiki works with the wisdom of your body, activating its healing potential and restoring harmony and balance to the mind, body and spirit. You don’t need to have any beliefs for it to work, so anyone and everyone can experience its benefits, including babies and animals.

Can Reiki help me?

Reiki is consider to be safe and effective, and can be used together with both conventional and complementary treatments.

It can help to accelerate healing of your physical problems, balance your emotions and mentally calm and soothe you, relieving symptoms and addressing the causes of even long-term problems. It is deeply relaxing and allows you to experience a profound sense of peace and contentment.

Reiki can also be used to encourage and support positive personal change you may wish to make, such as adopting a healthier lifestyle. It can help you improve the quality of any relationships, whether at home or at work, and allow you to be in a more resourced state of being.

I qualified as a Reiki Master Practitioner and have successfully aided and supported the improved wellness and comfort of numerous clients using this technique.

What to expect from your Reiki treatment?

During your Reiki treatment, a brief consultation will be undertaken to determine which issues or symptoms need to be addressed.

Once the key areas have been identified, you will be encouraged to relax to the accompaniment of soothing, calming and relaxing Reiki music.

During the hour of treatment, energy will be channelled through your body which can usually be felt in the form of heat or cold. The energy is drawn to the areas that most require it, both accelerating and enhancing the body’s own natural healing.

For healing to be most effective, usually two to four sessions close together (e.g. one week apart) are required.

No Session or information on this website constitutes medical treatment or advice and is merely designed to support and encourage wellness. Please consult your Doctor at all times.
